Temporary phone number for verification

A temporary phone number receives the one-time code an app sends when you sign up, so you don't have to use your own SIM. On OTPBox you pick the app and a country, buy a number, and the code appears on your screen. If no code comes within 5 minutes, you get your money back.

How it works

  1. 1Top up your walletPay by bank transfer, card, USDT or USDC (mobile money outside Nigeria). It lands in a minute or two.
  2. 2Pick a service and countrySee the price, buy, then use the number: it waits 5 minutes for the code.
  3. 3Copy the codePaste the number into the app you're signing up for. The code appears on your screen the moment the SMS arrives.

What a temp number is for

Most apps ask for a phone number and send a code by SMS before you can use them. A temp number lets you get that code on a number that isn't your personal line: for a second account, for a service that wants a number from another country, or when your own number is already in use.

Each number is rented for one code. It waits up to 5 minutes for the SMS, shows the code, then closes.

Real numbers, not shared inboxes

Free sites list the same few numbers for everyone to read, so most apps have already blocked them and anyone can see your code. An OTPBox number is given to you alone for that code, and only you see what arrives.

What it costs

Prices depend on the app and the country, and they're shown before you buy, in naira or USD. You top up a wallet once and buy numbers from it. A number that never gets a code costs nothing: the price goes back to your wallet at once.

Questions

Is a temporary phone number free?

No. Free number sites share a handful of numbers with everyone, so apps block them and your code is public. OTPBox numbers cost a small amount each, are yours alone for the code, and you're refunded if no code arrives.

How long does a temp number last?

It waits 5 minutes for the first code. Some numbers can be bought again later for another code; your Numbers page shows "Use again" when that's possible.

Can I keep the number?

No. These are temporary numbers for receiving a code, so don't use one for an account you'll need to recover by SMS later.

Which apps does it work with?

WhatsApp, Telegram, Google, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and over a thousand more. Pick the app first, and you'll see the countries that have numbers for it right now.

How do I pay?

Top up your OTPBox wallet first. In Nigeria: bank transfer, card, USDT or USDC. Elsewhere: mobile money, card, USDT or USDC.
